Tender Manager (Electrical)
About this position
Provides support to management and coordinate with Sales team during the pre-tender process starting from evaluating/ assessing tenders, assessing risk factors to arrive at bid decisions, and estimating all the required material, equipment, and manpower needs to be able to arrive at reliable cost estimates for bidding renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
• Analyze and evaluate tender documents from a technical perspective to identify risk factors and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare supporting documents such as Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical documents for the Sales team.
• Coordinate with Sales and technical teams for specification and BOQ clarifications.
• Attend pre-tender meetings if necessary.
• Present tender details internally with Sales and management, discussing risk factors, bid decisions, and tender-related issues.
• Follow up on work progress.
• Work with the design/drafting section during tender preparation to optimize methods for cost efficiency.
• Review and finalize project cost estimates prepared by the Tender Engineer, including material, work, equipment, and manpower requirements.
• Liaise with the Procurement department to negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for project supplies and materials.
• Finalize estimation of all direct and indirect costs and consolidate tender documents for management review and approval.
• Provide necessary project clarifications and information to the Project Manager upon project award.
• Advise the Project Manager on contractual rights and remedies considered during tendering.
• Consolidate weekly tender status reports for the Sales team.
• Prepare monthly status reports on tender wins and losses for management.
• Liaise with the Project Manager for on-site project execution and gather lessons learned for future tenders.
• Manage and monitor the performance of the tender team, providing guidance as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a renewable industry field (estimation-related).
• Knowledge in estimation works related to the industry (renewable energy related)
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good command in English
