Senior Legal Officer
About this position
Responsibilities
• Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal opinions on business contracts, transactions, projects, and other legal documents related to business activities.
• Offer legal advice and support to business teams on corporate, contract, and general legal matters, including data privacy and compliance issues.
• Stay informed about regulatory changes and developments, ensuring timely implementation of new legal requirements and standards.
• Develop, review, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures regularly. Collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and requirements.
• Conduct compliance audits, identify non-compliance areas, recommend corrective actions, and prepare compliance reports for management. Develop and implement the company’s compliance framework.
• Manage corporate matters and corporate secretary duties, including organizing meetings, maintaining records, and handling company registrations.
• Liaise with external legal advisors and coordinate with internal departments to develop strategic solutions for legal issues or disputes.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the organization.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus).
• At least 5 years with maturity and professional experience to handle complex legal and compliance matters effectively.
• Proven experience in legal advisory roles, preferably in the energy or power sector.
• Strong understanding of corporate and compliance matters, including data privacy and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• TOEIC score of 750+ or equivalent to demonstrate English competency.
