Data Center Network Engineer
About this position
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with senior network engineers to design and implement network and telecom solutions tailored to data center operations.
• Install and configure network hardware and software, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
• Continuously monitor network performance, identifying and troubleshooting issues as they arise to maintain high availability.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures to support ongoing operations and future upgrades.
• Assist in implementing network security measures to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
• Provide support for network users, addressing connectivity issues and ensuring seamless operation across the data center.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support and facilities management, to optimize network operations and address any infrastructure-related challenges.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Network engineering, preferably within a data center or similar critical environment. Internships or co-op experiences are beneficial.
• Proficiency in TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and network troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with Data Center LAN/WAN, SDN (Software-Defined Networking), and fabric networks.
• Knowledge of VXLAN, EVPN or Spine-Leaf architecture.
• Expertise with routers, switches, firewalls, access points, servers, storage and virtualization platform.
• Familiarity with Network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios) for network diagnostics.
• Knowledge of structured cabling and related standards.
• Experience with log management system for analyzing and resolving issues.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-directed.
• Fluent in English both written and verbal (Minimum 750 TOEIC score).
