Product Planning Specialist (Automotive/EV)
About this position
The Product Planning Specialist (Automotive/EV) is responsible for managing product strategy, overseeing product lifecycle positioning, and ensuring effective communication of product requirements while analyzing market needs and supporting marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
• Manage product strategy, including product specifications, performance, trim options, target customers, pricing strategy, product positioning, styling, and market-specific requirements for assigned products.
• Oversee the lifecycle positioning of products on sale, regularly conduct PDCA analysis of models, propose product improvements, enhance product strengths, and safeguard the brand's competitiveness in the market.
• Effectively communicate and submit official product requirements to the brand team, including the product plan book and specifications.
• Gather and analyze user needs through independent research and auto shows, define target customers, analyze the market, and optimize unique selling points and competitive strategies.
• Support the review of marketing communications and advertising materials.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, or a related field. A background in the automotive industry or product management is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or related roles within the automotive, consumer goods, or technology sectors.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in market research, user needs analysis, and competitive positioning.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with brand, marketing, and design teams to ensure alignment on product specifications, performance, styling, and positioning.
• Knowledge of pricing strategy and customer segmentation, with an understanding of how to tailor products for specific market demands and customer preferences.
• Passion for the automotive industry and familiarity with auto shows and current automotive trends is a plus.
