About this position
The Tech For Good Institute (TFGI) is a non-profit organization focused on leveraging technology and the digital economy to promote inclusive, equitable, and sustainable growth. The Institute Director will lead strategic planning and daily operations, working closely with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Work with Executive Director to build our (TFGI's) reputation for evidence-based, balanced and policy relevant work that is the best regarding originality, significance and rigour.
• Work with the Executive Director to engage the TFGI Board, Advisors, partners.
• Lead research/ thought leadership programmes end-to-end, from conceptualisation to evaluation.
• Direct daily operations to maintain pace and quality of work.
• Manage the TFGI team and develop them to achieve their responsibilities and grow professionally.
• Manage TFGI's administrative, governance and professional functions and steward TFGI's budget prudently with P&L responsibility to ensure that the Institute is on track to achieve financial and impact targets.
Requirements
• At least 8 years of experience in public policy, regulatory roles, or strategic advisory roles, ensuring you can guide the Institute’s strategic direction.
• Experience in Strategic Communications with public relations and strategic communication experience, particularly in planning, partnerships, and project management.
• You will have experience to conceptualize, design, execute, and evaluate research programmes, demonstrated by previous work in universities, research institutions, government, private companies, or consulting.
• Experience leading teams, including managing geographically-dispersed teams, to ensure all members are aligned and driving towards common goals.
• In-depth understanding of technology policy issues, with the ability to discern their broader social and business implications.
• You will have research interest in policy issues related to the technology industry, supported by a publication record.
• You have practical experience as a budget owner or manager with responsibility for financial outcomes and impact targets.
