About this position

The Quality Engineer / Product Leader for Aviation Retread Products is responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing quality issues, and driving continuous improvement in product specifications and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional team including giving direction and support. Led & coached quality team to manage quality issues in part of manufacturing process and customer issues.
• Development, improvement, and maintenance of quality-related documentation (ex: control plan, FMEA, process capability studies).
• Drive process capability improvements. Product industrialization and continuous improvement of product specifications. Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for reduced waste, improved quality, cost savings, and increased productivity. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate process performance, improvements and customer complaints to stakeholders.
• Anticipate problems and identify them proactively. Develop and advise on new problem-solving strategies.
• Use collaboration to solve problems and make decisions. Develop new tools and methods to solve problems. Identify external resources of value to Goodyear.
• Collect data and inputs to make decisions. Consult with resources. Make decisions based on facts.
• Consider alternatives and rule out unlikely outcomes. Advise others on novel processes. Identify high-impact projects and implement solutions.
• Develop innovative solutions to large complex technical problems.
• Develop and advise on new data analysis techniques cross-functionally.
• Use known, and develop new, tools and standards for project execution.
• Execute, develop, and advise necessary steps and activities for project execution. Deliver to project objectives.
• Provide expertise and advice that adds value to project planning.
• Use project risk management process to manage risks. Develop and create approaches to mitigate risk. Advise on lessons learned.
• Develop/advise/use creative approaches to execute projects.
• Execute project closeout phase while developing the process.
• Develop new methods for, and advise others on, project conflict resolutions.
• Anticipate conflicts and develop contingency plans.
• Develop self-leadership and technical competencies to prepare for next-level roles in the organization.
• Serve as a technical mentor to help develop the organization's technical competencies.
• Expected to develop self and others, and to model high ethical standards.
• Training staff on quality procedures and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (STEM) with 3 or more years experience.
• Strong background in quality assurance practices, methodologies, and tools like 5Why, FMEA, Kaizen, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to do systematic problem-solving and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and driving quality initiatives within the organization.
• Familiarity with the specific industry standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to manufacturing.
• Energize the team and maintain a positive attitude with peers. Provide constructive feedback. Plan and lead meetings.
