About this position

As the Assistant Production Manager, you will provide support to the Manufacturing Manager by controlling and coordinating production operations within a designated area of the plant, ensuring the delivery of flavor and fragrance products while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of the assigned production area to meet production schedules and targets.
• Manage inventory to ensure the availability of materials required for operations.
• Monitor output volume and quality, adjusting tasks, timing, and equipment setup to meet production specifications and optimize resource utilization.
• Safeguard plant assets and ensure compliance with internal control regulations.
• Prepare production reports to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Define manufacturing processes and procedures for the specific area, aligning with safety, EHS standards, and efficiency/productivity requirements.
• Propose ideas for continuous improvement initiatives within the area.
• Address necessary capacity improvements to meet evolving demand and prevent the need for new asset investments.
• Lead the rollout of the Lean program and facilitate relevant Team Board meetings.
• Supervise staff to ensure safe execution of all production tasks and proper operation of machines and equipment. Document performance and provide ongoing feedback, including conducting mid-year and end-of-year reviews, addressing behavioral and job performance issues, and recommending hiring, firing, and annual salary adjustments.
• Train new employees on the organization’s operating procedures and standards.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, including 2 to 3 years in a leadership role.
• Diploma in Technical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Ideal candidates should have backgrounds in the flavors industry; however, candidates from food-related industries are also encouraged to apply.
