G Steel Public Company Limited (“G Steel”) was founded in the late of 1995 by Dr. Somsak Leeswadtrakul , a key leader nationally recognized in this industrial sector and a pioneer of Thai and Southeast Asian steel industry with more than 40 years of experiences. G Steel is a producer and distributor of Hot Rolled Coil (“HRC”) aiming at substituting imports and meeting domestic customers’ demands. Its products serve as raw materials for such downstream industries as cold-rolled coils, galvanized steel, steel pipe, structural steel products for construction, LPG container, automobile, electrical appliance as well as steel furniture industries. Equipped with the world’s most advanced and top integrated technology, its HRC mill spent Baht 40,000 million capital investments promoted by BOI, combining steel melting, slab casting and hot rolling processes in the compact mini mill. The total annual production capacity was designed at 3.4 million tons per annum. The production capacity of its first phase presently on operation is 1.8 million tons per year with the production efficiency for mixed product outputs to meet varied market requirements consequently ran at 1.5 million tons annually. The plant is located on the area of 650 rais in Bankhai district, Rayong province about 175 kilometers from Bangkok.
