Merchandising Manager
About this position
The Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading teams to achieve financial targets and drive category growth through strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and team development.
Responsibilities
• Lead the teams to deliver financial targets, accurate sales and quantum profit budgets for the category.
• Support the category strategy review process and strategic change programmes, translating the strategy into clear plans for my team to drive category growth.
• Lead or support complex negotiations by my buying team meeting regularly with our supply base.
• Encourage my team to build long term supplier relationships, improve the trading position in a sustainable way and local the selling and buying plan ensuring there is a supplier strategy to meet the total category plan.
• Plan and develop product strategies / calendar based on seasonal & trends.
• Manage food consignment sales to get the product in front of customers for new/existing products, new sales channels opportunity, striving to drive footfall.
• Plan and develop pricing strategies and price survey both local market and competitor (modern trade etc.).
• Support the category trade and events plan with market leading, customer insight driven promotions and events.
• Develop and lead a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best to achieve KPIs and improve the category for customers.
• Coach and develop the team to deliver their performance and ensure a strong talent pipeline.
Requirements
• 7+ years work experience in category management, merchandising, commercial in retail business, e-commerce or FMCG background would be preferable.
• Strong leadership skills and high resilience.
• Strong data analytical skill, Negotiation skill and Supplier management skill.
• Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job.
• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.
