Area Head of Operations
About this position
The Area Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of dialysis facilities and programs, ensuring high service quality and cost-effectiveness while driving overall business success in the markets worldwide.
Responsibilities
• Acts as a serving leader to direct, administer and oversee the day-to-day operations and activities of dialysis facilities and programs within a specified and potentially changing geographic proximity within a country.
• Contribute to the implementation of the international care delivery strategy by focusing on high service quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan, and the broader organization's mission and vision.
• Motivate people to achieve local business goals.
• Deliver elements of a strategic planning system with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Implement improvement and operational excellence measures closely with Regional Head of Operations and other supporting functions.
• Deliver a budget for an area of the organization and conduct complex analyses on budget progress in assigned areas.
• Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team in the assigned area.
• Set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these.
• Take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.
• Oversee a clinic operational area with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Involves responsibility for development and delivery of operational measures.
• Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals.
• Involves coordinating across multiple teams.
• Identify shortcomings in existing business practices, then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization's change management program.
• Involves working with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards.
• Identify, within the team, patterns of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures, and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.
Requirements
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in operations management, preferably in healthcare or related fields.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and analyze financial performance.
• Experience in performance management and setting objectives.
• Ability to develop strategic plans and implement operational improvements.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and organizational policies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive change.
