About this position

The Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineer is responsible for overseeing and supporting all M&E operations, including repairs, preventive maintenance, and system modifications. This role ensures smooth execution of all activities in collaboration with Engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, while maintaining compliance with organizational standards, building codes, and relevant laws.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the repair and maintenance of M&E systems, working closely with the Engineering Team to ensure effective execution.
• Evaluate repair methods, associated costs, and compliance with quality and organizational standards.
• Coordinate with contractors to oversee repair work and ensure adherence to timelines and specifications.
• Develop, plan, and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maintain system reliability and prevent potential failures.
• Conduct regular inspections of M&E systems and share findings with regional teams for corrective actions.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking of maintenance activities for future reference.
• Review and validate plans for system modifications or renovations to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with teams to monitor project execution, providing technical guidance and recommendations as needed.
• Serve as a technical advisor to regional engineering teams, providing updates on issues and ensuring alignment with engineering protocols.
• Assign responsibilities, provide training, and offer constructive feedback to team members to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor and manage budgets for all M&E activities, ensuring expenditure remains within approved limits.
• Provide regular updates and detailed reports on budget utilization, proposing adjustments as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
• Minimum of 5 years in maintenance, industrial electricity, system operations, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Familiarity with building regulations, facility management, and applicable laws.
• Strong initiative and attention to detail.
• Effective problem-solving skills and a sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the industrial property and real estate sectors is an advantage.
