About this position

Forvia, a sustainable mobility technology leader, is seeking a Commodity Buyer to shape procurement strategy, manage supplier relationships, drive productivity, and ensure supplier performance.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement the commodity strategy for your assigned commodities.
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure their performance aligns with our standards.
• Panel Structuring: Organize and manage the supplier panel, ensuring it meets our strategic goals.
• Policy Implementation: Participate in defining and implementing purchasing panel policies.
• Supplier Selection: Oversee the selection process for suppliers within your commodity segment and deploy it regionally.
• Productivity Initiatives: Drive and manage productivity action plans, ensuring effective cost-sharing between suppliers and Forvia.
• Quality and Delivery: Ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery performance standards and manage any insolvencies with corrective action plans.

Requirements

Your profile and competencies to succeed:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in purchasing within an industrial environment, with a proven track record in managing and negotiating contracts.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of supply portfolio and market research.
• Expertise in sourcing strategies and their application.
• Deep understanding of business practices, market dynamics, and trends.
• Knowledge of contractual and legal aspects.
• Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and hands-on approach.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Accountable, results-oriented, with strong written and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
