About this position

Primarily responsible for all new models launch activities for Final EOL processes in AAT/FTM, implementing vehicle software programming/configuration and testing facilities and processes for the new program.

Responsibilities

• Lead VME (Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering) LQOS (Launch Quality Operating System) work-streams for EOL activities from DCV (Verification Prototype) through to OKTB (OK to Buy) for future programs within IMG. Along with any other tasks reasonably required by the IMG EOL management, this will include:
• Lead implementation of EOL process and facility changes including allocation of line space, development, and validation of the EOL system, training of operators, and resolution of EOL issues.
• Work with the EOL Systems Engineers to implement standardized systems and processes, as well as any improvements to the EOL software and hardware. Identify any corrective actions that are globally applicable and review with the global EOL teams.
• Work with other departments including IT, MP&L, etc. to ensure that interfacing systems are ready for the vehicle launch.
• Lead EOL ‘bubble team’ meeting for problem resolution through all build activities. Identify items affecting First Time Through at each station and co-ordinate the team to identify the cause of each item. Lead the resolution of any item assigned to the VME EOL team.
• Work with Ford departments and plants, providing End of Line test result data as part of the resolution of any issues. Obtain responses from PD, plant, and suppliers on any corrective actions to be taken to resolve issues assigned to these teams.
• Maintain EOL program launch metrics. Provide EOL night letter to the program management team. Interpret the results as needed and provide documentation for launch reviews.
• Conduct post-launch reviews to identify lessons and use them to improve future EOL launch activities.
• This role will require the flexibility to work outside of regular operating hours as part of the requirement to support other locations in the IMG region as well as interact with the wider Ford organization. Further, the individual must be able to travel and support launch activities for periods normally around six (6) weeks at a time.

Requirements

• Bachelor/master’s degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering
• Fresh Graduate or working experience in automotive standards related to position.
• Previous facility implementation is mandatory.
• Ability to use AutoCAD, Project, E-Plan, Rockwell products.
• Experienced in presenting to management forums, experience in managing project priorities and conflicts.
• Highly knowledgeable of automation safety standards
• Experience in project feasibility assessment
