Sr. System Administrator
About this position
The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing datacenter resources, including physical and virtual servers, while ensuring support for company growth and providing technical support during emergencies.
Responsibilities
• Administer, maintain and optimize datacenter resources, which includes: Physical and Virtual Server, storage Administration of approximately 150+ servers
• Implement and manage such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Server, Web Server, and other related systems.
• Serve as administrator of the backup and recovery systems
• Manage and apply patches for the servers, including related security requirements such as data encryption.
• Serve as administrator for the Active Directory, including GPOs
• Manage support agreements for various services supported, such as Dell, Microsoft, and other supplier.
• Provide server support for network printing services
• Planning and purchase of server resources to ensure they can be support the company growth.
• Serve as a primary stakeholder in the identifying, planning and implementing new solutions, as well as system hardware & software upgrades
• Assist other IT support with troubleshooting problems that may be system related
• Develop and maintain documentation to cover areas such as server inventory, backup
• Provide support on-call and after-hours technical support during scheduled and unscheduled emergency situations.
Requirements
• Qualifications in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Linux/UNIX, and AI/ML
• Experience maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory domain including DNS, DHCP, security, policy management, print services, and account maintenance.
• PowerShell scripting
• Ability to configure, patch, and troubleshoot servers (physical and virtual)
• Understands directives and requirements of projects.
• Problem-solving and good analysis
• Communication, teamwork, and negotiation
• Ability to recognize, troubleshoot, and resolve situations or problems is a necessity.
• Responds with a sense of urgency to immediate needs.
• 5 - 10 years of work experience in information technology DNS, DHCP, security, policy management, print services, and account maintenance.
• Bachelor’s degree.
