Role Summary



The Investment Analyst's primary responsibilities will include assistance to the Investment Team members in managing Regional Office’s investees and loan portfolios, provide administrative and logistical support to help maintain and manage regional operations. The Investment Analyst will be guided by senior Investment Team members in the use of EQ’s tools in order to assist in the financial analysis and assess credit risk posed by financial institutions or other investee types. Part of his/her functions will include performing market/industry research, assisting colleagues in country and other risk analysis, preparing fund management reports, creating investor reports and other analytical support as required.



The key functions of the Investment Analyst role are to:



Research & Analysis: Collect, analyze, and store operational, financial, and ESG information of investees. Perform market research, monitor financial markets, and support new business opportunities.
Monitoring: Track market systems, investees, and their performance.
Investment Proposals: Prepare parts of investment proposals.
Analytical Reviews & Credit Risk: Assist in periodical analytical reviews and credit risk assessment of the outstanding investments.
Credit-related Tasks: Handle closing transactions, loan disbursement, and follow-ups.
Due Diligence: Assist in planning, preparing, and participating in due diligences, and draft reports.
Country Risk Reports: Prepare and maintain detailed reports on country risks and mitigation factors. Analyze macroeconomic, political, legal, regulatory, market, and other risks. Update information on regulatory and competitive environments.
Operations Support: Aid in the disbursement of loan proceeds and collection of legal documents.
Covenant Management: Help manage covenants and risk reports.
Performance Reporting: Complete KPI reports and assist with internal and external reporting.
External Audit: Gather information for audits of managed funds.
Portfolio Analysis: Assist the Investment Team by performing portfolio analysis.
Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain relationships with investees, colleagues, and third parties.
Internal Tools Development: Contribute to developing internal tools and procedures.

Responsibilities

Who you are



We are looking for a highly motivated and outspoken candidate with working experience in banking (with focus on lending) and/or impact investing and compelling personal background.



Key attributes and skills you bring to this exciting role are:



Educational Background: Degree in finance, economics, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in banking, impact investment, or economic development.
Experience in financial institution analysis and credit risk assessment.
Preferred experience in financial and ESG due diligences of financial institutions or credit providers.
Interest & Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated interest in impact investing, emerging markets, SDG initiatives, and green energy or energy transition projects.
Skills:
Strong financial analysis skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills.
Language: Excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to communicate in the language of the Regional Office.
Travel: Availability to travel regularly within South and Southeast Asia.
Personal Attributes:

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Whom you will work with



As part of the Investment Team, the Investment Analyst will report directly to the Head of the Regional Office.



Location



Preferably in India. Remote / Hybrid possible depending on location and seniority.
