Development Engineer
About this position
At Electrolux, the Development Engineer is responsible for the design and development of mechanical and electronic product components, as well as the creation and validation of new components. The role involves analyzing technical solutions and solving a range of problems while working autonomously within established procedures.
Responsibilities
• Create and validate mechanical system/module/components taking care of its design and development (technical specification, functionality, reliability, manufacturability, safety, quality, cost etc.)
• Drive the execution of mechanical development project/activities
• Support test manual definition for components/modules
• Support Laboratories (internal ones and external partners) on development/verification test result’s analysis and cooperating in find technical solutions
• Develop designs & system and validate through calculation / simulation modelling (CAE, MBD) and prototype/experimental testing
• Participate in system/module/components definition and its reviews, ensuring standardization & modularization approach
• Be responsible in issued technical documentation
• Participate in supplier evaluation and selection
• Monitor and commission changes to plant and systems (PLM, …) and support part/product approval
• Supply all technical input for product literature, BOM, labels, technical manuals, etc.
• Support technical leader on project deliveries / documentation / planning / protos
• Ensure strong relationship with all functions in the organization
• Drive proper external networking
• The function as technical leader can be assigned in agreement with the employee
• The function of a GDM can be assigned, depending on seniority
Requirements
• Bachelor ’s Degree or higher in Mechanical.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in new product development with responsible parts/components developments
• Module Knowledge, Compressor and Heat Exchanger
• CAD Modelling and Drafting (CatiaV5 is a plus)
• Plastic injection moulding component
• Sheet metal stamped design
• Tolerance Analysis
• Tooling Knowledge
• Material and Process selection
• Prototype Building
• Cost & Quality analysis
• Development process
• FMEA, DFMA
• Data management PLM system (Teamcenter is a plus)
