Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and provide critical feedback on structural drawings and specifications.
• Ensure alignment with approved concepts and identify potential issues related to functionality, construction feasibility, and design discrepancies.
• Combine structural drawings with architectural, MEP, ID, landscape, lighting, and façade drawings to ensure seamless integration and avoid clashes.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship, ensure compliance with approved standards, and maintain quality control.
• Provide innovative solutions to unforeseen on-site challenges, considering cost, quality, and project timelines.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and approved designs and resolve any clashes between combined drawings.
• Manage the structural design schedule to align with overall project timelines.
• Collaborate effectively with the Project Director, designers, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Initiate material sourcing for Value Engineering (VE) initiatives, identifying suitable suppliers that meet design requirements and budget constraints.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on construction drawing and site inspection in the hospitality and high-end to luxury residential sectors (low-rise and high-rise buildings).
• Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit) and familiarity with BIM workflows.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and regulatory processes.
• Experience with building permit processes, including preparation and submission of required documentation.
• Excellent observation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication, collaboration, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Creative thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and maintain organization under pressure.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
