Assistant Safety Manager
About this position
Develop and implement safety, health and environmental (SHE) practices to ensure alignment to global DKSH safety policy and local/international safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Support superior in managing day-to-day operating expenditures against operating budgets to ensure efficient usage of resources
• Monitor the implementation of safety, health and environmental (SHE) practices to ensure alignment to global DKSH safety policy and local/international safety standards
• Conduct regular occupational safety, health and environment inspections; and suggest proactive measures to prevent accidents and incidents
• Track and monitor incidents and accidents and identify corrective actions
• Monitor waste minimization initiatives to ensure alignment with environmental laws and government regulations
• Conduct hazard identification and risk analysis both for safety and environmental aspects
• Coordinate and conduct training on relevant safety, health and environmental (SHE) policies, procedures, and activities to ensure consistent implementation
• Coordinate and work with government agencies and regulatory bodies in adhering to their requirements and complying with its laws and regulations
• Coordinate with other functions i.e. Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management for the implementation of the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
Requirements
• Demonstrate good knowledge of dangerous goods regulations and safety data sheets (SDS)
• Demonstrate basic understanding of the global harmonized system (GHS) and REACH
• Demonstrate a working knowledge, comprehension and application of local regulations on safety, health and environmental (SHE)
• Proven know-how and knowledge of transport safety and dangerous goods management
• Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally in English, both written and spoken
• Diploma/certificate in Science, Chemistry, Pharma or related disciplines
• Certified training in industry quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) and regulatory standards
