Design Team Leader
About this position
Responsibilities
• Provide general oversight and support for all members of the Design team.
• Work with the Design Manager to understand, analyse, and respond to client briefs.
• Manage and coordinate the workflow within the design team including job prioritisation, creative objectives, requirements and scheduling.
• Work with the Art Director to develop and deliver boundary pushing design concepts and ideas.
• Develop, implement, monitor and review procedures within the Design team.
• Liaise with management on a daily basis to ensure effective communication and alignment of design projects with company goals.
• Support the Design Manager to liaise with customers as necessary to negotiate solutions where a range of interests have to be accommodated.
• Decipher complex design briefs and objectives into intelligent solutions which meet the customer's brief and brand.
• Under guidance of the Design Manager, provide daily management of staff performing graphic design duties; including the allocation of responsibilities and review of performance.
• Support the Design Manager to develop and/or improve the capability of staff within work area. This includes organising training, personal development, and knowledge sharing within the studio to better meet the current and future requirements.
• Working with the Art Director to provide oversight and mentoring of design team members to promote a culture of innovation, originality and strong creativity for design ideation, high quality concepts, and execution.
• Manage the Administration, prioritisation, and triage of creative enquiries to best utilize our internal resources.
• Support the creative team to use efficient workflow methods to create design concepts for the clients in line with time and budget restraints.
• Maintains positive communication with studio staff and management to ensure positive workflow and status updates.
• Involvement with customer projects from start to finish, ensuring successful project progression and completion against deadlines.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts, Media Arts, Graphic Design or equivalent education.
• 4 or more years of experience as a Senior Designer with a portfolio comprising of branding and design solutions for major brands.
• High level understanding of traditional design and future digital landscape and trends.
• Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign).
• Thorough knowledge of other digital software including:
• Communication – Slack, MS Teams.
• MS Office– Office, Word, PowerPoint.
• Ability and confidence to communicate and convey information to customers and co-workers, including strong concept, presentation and collaboration skills.
