Procurement supervisor
About this position
The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for leading a team in procurement tasks, managing projects, and ensuring effective communication with suppliers and internal divisions.
Responsibilities
• Lead a team of 2 groups (New model group & cost down group)
• Support manager in all operational activities
• Control daily task, supervising engineers
• Support and cooperate any reasonable project, activities or requirement from the company
• Project supervising & control
• Follow up plan to fix the problem issues of new model as responded
• Summarize project and report the progress of new model
• Participate in a cross functional team such as design review meeting, new model committee meeting, program meeting according to sourcing
• New model project management QCD of new model
• Participate, control, advise procurement engineer in new model project planning process including receiving new model information, set procurement QCD target and action and planning procurement schedule
• Control and advise procurement engineers in new parts data preparation & PU proposal such as drawing change, strategy, alternative spec., EOL solution and cost down idea
• Lead between internal cross-functional teams and supplier the identification of alternative parts/suppliers, facilities, qualification, and conduct, supplier meeting to drive
• Cooperate with concerned section in case that there are QCD matter of new model
• Be responsible for supervising, coaching engineers so that they have skill to function effectively in their roles
• Lead of collaboration with cross-functional teams cost control group and R&D to control new model cost to achieve target
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives of parts and material either through cost analysis & negotiation, alternative/2nd source then working with R&D until design changes
• Be responsible for choosing the best suitable suppliers in new product development with regard to strategy, risk, quality, price, delivery ability and logistics solution
• Source and develop new suppliers
• Support engineer to follow up suppliers to confirm delivery date of each purchasing
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement tasks
• Bachelor of engineering in any related field
• Able to work under pressure and dynamic working style
• Have strong project management skill, analysis and problem solving skill and good leadership skill
• Good cooperation & communication with both suppliers and internal division
