About this position

The R&D Packaging Assistant Manager is responsible for conducting research and development on packaging materials, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing test procedures while coordinating with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Conducts project research and development on packaging material; primary and secondary packaging material included artwork development, packaging testing, laboratory analysis, commercial test run of packaging material.
• Creates, controls and distributes Raw Material Specs to Dole internal spec control system and ensure that all raw materials are compliance with Dole policy and food regulations of destination- countries.
• Implements research programs in accordance with Dole’s overall objectives and business strategies.
• Develops and implements test procedures for the evaluation of materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
• Conducts technological transfer from PDI laboratory scale to commercial scale by meeting with all concerned departments.
• Coordinates and participates new product commercial production test run with production.
• Initiates, reviews and makes change request of Raw Material Specification.
• Ensures compliance with relevant government regulations.
• Assigns subordinate level in the organizational chart to be deputy to handle his/her duties and responsibilities in case of absence.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the office, laboratory and facilities.
• Comply with procedure and requirements of Environmental ISO 14001 and quality system FSSC 22000 and other standard mandatory require to be used of the organization and participates actively as needed.
• Report problem with regards to the Food Safety Management System to Superior.
• BOM.
• Purchasing Request.
• Material Request.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Participates actively in the Company’s Continuous Improvement Programs include included WCM program.

Requirements

• Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging & Material Science and Technology/Engineer or related fields.
• 5-6 years’ work experience on packaging development in Food Processing Industry.
• English proficiency.
