Electrical Engineering Supervisor
About this position
The Electrical Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising the electrical engineering team, ensuring effective project management, and maintaining compliance with safety and electrical standards.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the electrical engineering team.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance and technical support to team members.
• Lead or support electrical projects, including system upgrades, new installations, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure quick and effective resolution of electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor electrical performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve electrical systems and support automation initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical equipment, maintenance schedules, and completed tasks.
• Generate reports on team performance, system reliability, and project progress.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical work.
• Ensure all electrical systems and work processes comply with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of electrical systems and team practices.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with production processes.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Conduct training to enhance team skills and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing or packaging.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLC programming (Siemens, Alan Bradley or Omron Systems), automation, and control systems.
• Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and maintenance tools.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC).
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers and technicians.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent.
• Certification in electrical safety or project management (e.g., OSHA, PMP).
