Costing Accountant
About this position
Crown Food Packaging (Thailand) Public Limited is seeking a Cost Accountant responsible for analyzing and managing cost data to guide financial planning and decision-making, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting management in budgeting, forecasting, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, material, and overhead to determine the actual cost of production.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management review.
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies, and identify areas for cost reduction.
• Conduct variance analysis by comparing budgeted costs to actual costs and report findings.
• Identify causes of variances and suggest corrective actions to management.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to resolve any discrepancies in cost variances.
• Monitor inventory levels and assess the financial impact of stock control.
• Perform regular inventory audits and ensure the accuracy of inventory valuation.
• Recommend inventory adjustments to minimize obsolescence and improve inventory turnover.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze financial information to project future costs and assess profitability.
• Monitor budget adherence and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost accounting records.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and external audits.
• Review and improve costing procedures and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize cost control measures.
• Implement new tools or systems for better cost tracking and analysis.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with inventory management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
• Strong communication skills to present financial findings to non-financial team members.
• Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
