Industrial Engineer - Motorcycle
About this position
Continental is seeking an Industrial Engineer for the Motorcycle division to apply industrial engineering methods to enhance efficiency and optimize costs in production. The role involves supporting production goals while minimizing non-value-added operations and ensuring quality and ergonomic standards.
Responsibilities
• Application of IE-methods to improve efficiency and optimize cost in the production area of responsibility.
• Support the production area to realize the production budget and minimize non value-added operations by defining the required technical and human means considering quality, cost, quantity, timing targets and ergonomic aspects.
• Owner of evaluating machine efficiencies (OEE/TEEP), benchmarking with other entities, reporting in management discussions and define a roadmap for continuous improvement.
• Owner of production efficiency (Standard Tires/manhour), benchmarking with other entities, reporting in management discussions and define roadmap for continuous improvement.
• Owner of plant layout taking care of the people and material flow and the aspects of ergonomic and 5S compliant attractive workplace.
• Owner of defining plant production capacity growth steps to meet the current and future supply demand/forecast from the Supply Chain Management teams.
• Active member of the Global IE community to share learnings/successes and bring learnings from other plants/central teams back to the local organization.
• Owner of the Plant Rolling Investment and Capacity Planning meeting to define the 5 year roadmap for the plant based on future supply/demand and new technology roadmaps.
• Local Key User of the IE related Manufacturing systems (for cycle time settings, investment planning/tracking, HC planning/tracking etc.)
• Support development of Standard operating procedures.
• One of the key drivers of 5S standards on the shopfloor.
• Utilize effective tools and methods like Data analytics etc. and conduct workshops (as needed) to identify and drive improvement opportunities in the areas of ownership indicated above.
Requirements
• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management or related field
• Minimum 3 years in Tire production or Manufacturing
• Manufacturing processes of Tire industry process optimization
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Methods/
