About this position

Xayaburi Power Company Limited (XPCL) is seeking a Civil Instrumentation Engineer to perform maintenance, analysis, and repairs of civil dam instruments at the Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant in Lao PDR.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventive maintenance work as assigned.
• Able to assist corrective maintenance assigned and control & monitor of contractor when required.
• Able to assist installation and basis repairs all equipment that under dam instrument and assisting others.
• Able to assist continually checking all phases of operation for difficulties or irregularities, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Maintaining journals, logs, maintenance and equipment records and various reports.
• Writing up required materials and submitting for approval.
• Taking actions necessary to prevent any failures.
• Performing the geotechnical investigation as per the plan or if required such as assisting to investigation and concept design for protection the erosion of riverbank for the Upstream and Downstream side.
• Analyzing the ground stress which includes capacity and stress levels and executing tests on the samples and noting down the contamination.
• Designing the projects based on the investigation performed or if required.
• Creating 2D and 3D models using computer applications.
• Taking care of geological hazards while planning the project or requires and suggesting necessary changes.
• Performing any duties in a safe and economical manner, taking reasonably care of the health and safety, avoiding unsafe shortcuts or fail to follow established procedures that might negatively impact on health, safety or the environment.
• Being aware and playing a vital role considering the essential of environmental management in accordant with ISO 14001Quality Management in accordance with ISO 9001 and safety and Occupational health in accordance with ISO 45001.
• Other task following supervisor's assignment or company policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Instrument or Civil Engineer.
• Minimum 2 years experience of dam instruments.
• Teamwork and Cross-boundary Collaboration, Accountability, Sharing and Developing Knowledge and Skills, Adaptability, Work Ethics.
• Good mechanical understand.
