Site Realibility Engineer
About this position
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for implementing efficient tests, building and deploying CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the delivery of services in accordance with security and policy requirements.
Responsibilities
• Implement efficient tests, and build and deploy CI/CD pipelines for our cloud-based projects with embedded security
• Design and implement automation processes for software deployment.
• Ensure services are delivered in a manner consistent with security and policy requirements.
• Set up and manage monitoring systems and policies for data platform and data domain projects.
• Able to suggest system optimization to the Data Platform team
• Continuously seek out innovative ways to speed up and automate all aspects of testing, building, and releasing software project versions and updates through our infrastructure.
• Understand cloud hosting costs and help generate solutions for their optimization.
Requirements
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
• Several years of working direct experiences in the Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role and at least 3 years of solid development experience
• Distributed infrastructure engineering team.
• Be familiar with the concepts of DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, and Continuous Testing (CI/CD/CT)
• Understand the DataOps concept.
• Ability to take ownership, be accountable, and be reliable and build loyalty to delivery service excellence.
• Familiarity with the concept of Code/Git versioning, GitOps, GitLab CI, and Code Review process.
• Working with Agile and Scrum working teams.
• Good knowledge of Cloud Solutions (AWS, GCP, or Azure), in particular Compute Engine, Kubernetes, security, networking, managed databases, and monitoring solutions.
• Ability to independently set up and work with local (laptop) environments using cloud and containerization tools, like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, gcloud CLI, and others.
