Legal Manager/Deputy Director
About this position
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Manager/Deputy Director to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of our business, with a particular focus on international business contracts and complex agreements. This role requires strong legal expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to navigate various legal challenges. The candidate will work closely with senior management and top executives and play a key role in supporting new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including international business contracts and complex agreements.
• Structure contracts and agreements to support new business models and opportunities.
• Support the company's M&A activities, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives by providing legal due diligence and transaction support.
• Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management on various legal matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management.
• Foresee and prevent potential legal risks, offering proactive suggestions and options to support informed management decisions.
• Manage and mitigate potential legal and business risks.
• Work closely with senior management to identify and support new business opportunities.
• Oversee and coordinate with external legal counsel to ensure alignment with the company's goals and legal requirements.
• Ensure standard policies, procedures, processes and recommend the best practices to promote compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance on all legal and compliance matters to business.
• Supervise and manage legal team including developing team’s capability.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Law or higher from an accredited law school; graduation from a foreign university is preferred.
• A certified lawyer is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within a law firm or an international team in a corporate legal department.
• Proven experience with M&A transactions, joint ventures, and international business contracts.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
