QA Assistant Manager
About this position
Responsibilities
• Assist and support the department manager in supervising and managing operations or performing assigned tasks in various activities, as follows:
• Develop policies for quality assurance, set goals, and operational policies for the department, including defining work standards and success metrics.
• Create quality assurance plans, including master plans, that align with the company’s strategic plans and departmental policies.
• Control, monitor, and measure operations to ensure alignment with the set goals, including the following:
• Quality system certifications
• Customer audits
• Supplier control
• Compliance with new regulations
• Food and factory registration
• Communicate with customers, government agencies, and vendors/ service providers to ensure accurate and complete information regarding products and services and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Plan the department's budget, manage and oversee operating costs, ensuring alignment with operational plans while staying within budget and available resources.
• Organize workflows, define work procedures, and outline responsibilities within the department. Participate in structuring the scope of duties and workforce planning.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments to study, analyze data, inquire, follow up, and collaborate on related tasks or issues within the department's responsibilities.
• Communicate company policies to staff and ensure proper compliance with these policies throughout the organization.
• Promote good relationships, communicate company vision, mission, operational directions, and other necessary information to the team to foster understanding, cooperation, and motivation to achieve organizational goals.
• Encourage and support staff to perform effectively while maintaining good morale and a positive work environment.
• Train and mentor department staff, share expertise, and evaluate employee performance. Provide feedback on achievements and take appropriate action regarding discipline or recognition.
• Resolve issues that arise in the department and report them to senior management. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Support and participate in activities to improve production and product quality, including initiatives such as 5S, ISO, and KAIZEN.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in food science, Food Technology, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
