About this position

The Claims Expert is responsible for managing project-related claims and changes, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and effectively communicating with stakeholders to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and manage change requests within the project also negotiate with relevant parties to ensure compliance and economics of project changes.
• Review contract documents to understand the terms and conditions in the contract to ensure compliance when handling changes and claims.
• Evaluate the impact of project changes, including cost, schedule, and quality impacts, to determine the reasonableness and feasibility of the changes.
• Communicate and negotiate with customers, contractors, supervision agencies and other stakeholders to resolve project change issues and ensure that all parties reach a consensus.
• Processes and manages project-related claims, including review, preparation, submission and tracking of claims.
• Understand relevant laws, regulations and contractual legal knowledge to safeguard the company's interests during the claims handling process.
• In-depth understanding of technical knowledge and professional practices in the water engineering field to better understand and evaluate project changes and claims.
• Prepare and maintain reports, documentation and records related to project changes and claims.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a related engineering or legal field is usually required, such as civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, construction engineering, law or contract management.
• Experience in water engineering project management or related fields for at least 5 years.
• In-depth knowledge of contract management and contract law, with the ability to understand contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance when dealing with changes and claims.
• Must have deep technical knowledge in the water engineering field to better evaluate and manage project changes.
• Understand building regulations, contract law and relevant laws and regulations in order to safeguard the company's interests when handling claims.
• Ability to effectively manage project changes and claims, including evaluating costs, timelines, and risks.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Possess problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve changes and claims issues in projects.
• Experience handling legal disputes and arbitration proceedings will be an advantage.
• Possessing relevant professional certifications such as a Registered Civil Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or legal-related professional certifications will help increase competitiveness.
• In some cases, leadership skills may also be an asset as leadership teams may be required to handle changes and claims matters.
• Able to work at Laemchabang, Chonburi.
