Payroll Specialist
About this position
The Payroll Specialist will manage end-to-end payroll processing activities for the organization's employees in Thailand, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities for the organization's employees in Thailand, including local employees and Chinese expatriates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Calculate salaries, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll components accurately for both local and expatriate employees.
• Consider additional factors such as allowances, adjustments, and tax equalization for local and expatriate employees.
• Stay up-to-date with relevant Thai labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements for both local and expatriate employees.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with legal and regulatory standards for all employees.
• Handle tax filings and ensure accurate withholding and reporting of taxes for both local and expatriate employees, including any specific requirements for expatriate taxation.
• Maintain employee payroll records and data accurately and confidentially for both local and expatriate employees.
• Manage employee master data related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes in compensation, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Utilize payroll software and systems effectively to streamline processes and enhance efficiency for both local and expatriate payroll.
• Collaborate with IT teams for system enhancements, upgrades, and troubleshooting to support payroll operations for all employees.
• Support internal and external audits related to payroll processes for both local and expatriate payroll.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure payroll accuracy and integrity for all employees.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
• Strong understanding of Thai payroll regulations and tax laws, with additional knowledge of tax treaties between Thailand and China.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Good at English speaking/reading/writing skills, Chinese language skills is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to carry out cross-departmental and multi-field communication and collaboration.
• Proficient in payroll software and other relevant HR and Finance applications.
