About this position

The Category Manager - FMCG is responsible for managing supplier relationships, analyzing sales data, and developing product strategies to meet customer needs while achieving sales and profit targets.

Responsibilities

• Select, build up and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
• Analyze sales data, plan, and manage the products in the assigned category.
• Set the direction to develop the products regarding to the trend of customer need in term of image, sales, and profit.
• Set the standard margin of products in the assigned category to achieve target.
• Supervise and follow up suppliers’ Term & Condition and Trading Agreement, including Trading activities, together with Trade Plan’s strategy and planning for win-win benefits within timeline.
• Supervise and follow up Trading activities, with Trade Plan, (Promotion, pricing, Theme, Event, Supplier Campaign) by store format.
• Work with Category Intelligence in assortment development for responsible category to achieve target.
• Control and ensure right working processes and revenue collection to achieve target.
• Manage space & planogram to maximize return on selling space (with SRD team).
• Manage own brand & private label products for uniqueness and improve margin (with OB).
• Manage import range to up-trade, differentiate, and improve margin (with Import).
• Support and solve store or other relevant departments problems such as Merchandising, Replenishment, DC, Marketing.
• Control and monitor Product Recall procedure regarding to regulations from relevant institutes (e.g. FDA).
• Support and coordinate (with Trade Plan who is the main responsible person) in trading activities for new stores and renovated stores.
• Plan manpower, prepare manual to develop team and train new staff.
• Control working operation and evaluate subordinators’ performance.
• Learn new knowledge and technologies that support Category development tasks and pass on to team members to increase effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Marketing or any related field.
• Proven experiences and excellent past performance in Buying & Merchandising or any related field at least 5 years.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skill.
• Good analytical and problem solving skill.
• Excellence in Team building and Leadership skill.
