About this position

The Financial Controller (Finance & Accounting Specialist) is responsible for overseeing financial operations, preparing reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulations while providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Financial Operations: Manage all financial activities for both the restaurant and OEM salad dressing divisions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reports: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for each business segment, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budgeted figures, explaining discrepancies and suggesting corrective actions.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and capital expenditures.
• Annual Budget Preparation: Lead the budgeting process, working with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial plans for both business units.
• Financial Forecasting: Develop and update financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability, considering market trends, seasonality, and business strategy.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze and control operational costs across both business units, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Inventory Management: Collaborate with the operations and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels, reducing waste, and ensuring cost-effective procurement for both the restaurants and OEM production.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards for both business segments.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage both internal and external audits, addressing any findings and implementing necessary changes.
• Growth Strategy Support: Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including potential expansion of the restaurant chain or new product lines for the OEM business.
• Investment Analysis: Evaluate potential capital investments, acquisitions, or divestitures, providing detailed financial projections and risk assessments.
• Work closely with other departments, including operations, marketing, and supply chain, to align financial goals with overall business objectives.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the restaurant or food manufacturing industry.
• At least 2 years of experience in an auditing firm as an auditor.
• Financial Acumen: Expertise in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret financial data, conduct variance analysis, and solve complex problems.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and thorough audit preparation.
• Leadership: Team management, cross-department collaboration, and effect.
