Material Planning Supervisor
About this position
This is a supervisory role, responsible for strategic material planning processes are in place. This incumbent is directly reporting into local Supply Chain Planning manager, yet English communication is mandatory to communicate with overseas supplier team and solve any urgent issues for team at times. This role will manage 5 direct reports and possess strong planning skill and effective communication skill.
Responsibilities
• Coordinating with Demand and Order team, manufacturing and suppliers on short and long-term production forecasts and expected deliverables.
• Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure purchasing strategies are maximized.
• Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs.
• Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings and change process. Ensure effective.
• Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production.
• Contribute to the assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with members of the purchasing team.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time.
• Ensure that any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system in place is effective and that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
Requirements
• Inventory Management – PHA (Level Working Knowledge): Knowledge of inventory management; ability to manage inventories of raw materials and finished goods.
• Supply Chain Management - MFG (Level Extensive Experience): Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
• Effective Communications (Level Extensive Experience): Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
