Government Relation Manager
About this position
Responsibilities
• Communicating any correspondences/inquiries from government offices with regards to any matters/issues of the Company and responsible to manage and address the matters/issue in coordination with related departments in the Company.
• Manage site visits of government officers and ensure effectiveness of the agenda and manage any follow up required actions (for any findings, etc) for the best interest of the Company.
• Represent company by attending any gatherings or meetings arranged by mining society and association to obtain and update necessary information on the new laws, government rules & regulations, policies and any other issues which might be useful for the company operation.
• Establish both internal (Board, management, and related staff member) with external stakeholder communication including government officials and mining or any association to ensure company’s message continuity.
• Maintain and foster good relationship with the stakeholders, including government institutions to support company operation and projects.
• Ensure company participation in program initiated by the Governments and /or associations.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in government relations, external relations, or a related role, preferably within the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of government processes, regulatory frameworks, and public policy issues affecting the Energy sector.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skill, ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
