About this position

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal contracts, providing legal advice on various issues, and ensuring legal compliance within the organization. The position requires working closely with the BYD Group legal team and may involve occasional business travel.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts to achieve business objectives, minimize risk and ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and BYD’s policies;
• Follow BYD legal management principals to establish/carry out local legal management system, including contract/dispute/litigation management, risk and compliance management;
• Advise on a wide variety of legal issues, including but not limited to distribution/marketing/product liabilities etc;
• Provide legal assessment counseling and risk mitigation advice to handle disputes and unexpected events in Thailand;
• Act as a business partner to support the achievement of the organization business goals and strategies and assist BYD Group legal team to manage legal compliance work;
• Assist with legal matters in other markets if necessary, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• The member of The Thai Bar Association, and experienced in the laws relating to automotive industry will be a plus
• Around 3 years experience in top tier law firms or multinational company
• English or Chinese can be the working language
• Efficient work habits and be able to identify and resolve problems on a timely basis
• Desire to work independently, proactively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
• Open-minded and has excellent communication skills
• Accept (infrequent) business travel in Thailand and overseas.
