About this position

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing server and network infrastructure in a large-scale IT operation, ensuring high availability and performance while supporting business growth.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor server and network performance verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
• Provide performance statistics and reports, and ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and plan system resources to support business growth/change.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of system engineering experience administrating, configuring and troubleshooting server and network infrastructure in a large scale IT operation (2,000+ endpoints) utilizing the following technologies: Cisco, Linux system, Windows Server, VMware, EMC Storage and hands on experience of IT Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering with experience in Infrastructure design, automation and administration.
• A good understanding of IT service delivery and support disciplines as defined under ITIL.
• Proven knowledge in cloud virtualization platforms like AWS Cloud platforms, MS Azure Cloud Platform, Google Cloud Platform.
• Possess excellent knowledge of enterprise software and infrastructure technologies e.g. Windows Server, Windows Clustering, Active Directory, Virtualization (VMware). Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, VBS), SAN and NAS storage, Backup software and Backup best practices, BCP/DRP.
• Excellent understanding of AWS Cloud and MS Azure Cloud components and Proficient with Cloud IT architecture design and concepts.
• Experience with General automation including AWS and MS Azure CLI, Ansible, Python, PowerShell and Bash scripting. Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM etc.).
• Knowledge of Operate, Maintain and Monitor Services on AWS Cloud and MS Azure Cloud are mandatory.
• Familiarity with authentication patterns (IAM and MFA).
• Experience in installing, patching and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Experience in integrating Linux services into a Windows based environment, including authentication, resource sharing, and configuration management tools. Solid understanding of the Linux Internet Services and Web/Applications server software and Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience.
• Possess knowledge of current networking infrastructure e.g. Wired network (LAN, WAN), Wireless network, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, LAN/WAN Load balancers (Including Windows NLB), IPS, Firewall, Proxy Servers, Bandwidth Management and Traffic Shaping, VPN, Knowledge in one or more public cloud platforms.
• Must have a good command of English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines, strong time management skills, advanced and demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills, good documentation skills, ability to work on multiple project/work items simultaneously, well organized, a proven team leader, always delivers high quality work, and maintains a highly professional manner and appearance.
• Must be able to motivate others and have a willingness and ability to work through difficult situations and solve challenging problems.
