Linux Middleware Engineer
About this position
Within Technologies & Operations Department, join Middleware & Data – SaaS team to work in a
multicultural company:
- Deploy and update all business applications
- Ensure availability and performance of production environments
- Implement strategic projects for new applications or major upgrades
- Coordinate and Communicate operations with stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents
- Ensure compliance with policies and processes
Responsibilities
Support & maintenance
- Provide level 2 technical support on business applications
- Manage incidents & problems
- Perform root cause analysis of issues
- Perform routine application maintenance & troubleshooting tasks
- Delegate level 1 support & monitoring tasks to 24/7 Operations Center team
Releases & deployments management
- Configure and deploy new application releases on Linux & Openshift
- Define deployment procedures
- Identify repetitive tasks to automatize
Projects
- Implement strategic projects with application stakeholders and supplier
- Migrate applications to new version
- Weblogic installation and patching
- Create and maintain BMC Control-M jobs (full in-house training provided)
Miscellaneous
- Basic database tasks (Restart, Query execution, …)
- Contribution to continuous improvement of IT production processes
Requirements

- On call Standby required (night/weekends)
- Experience & good knowledge of Linux environments
- Understand applications interactions and dependencies in a distributed architecture
- Good communication skills
Technologies Knowledge:
- Linux (Red Hat) environments
- At least 1 application server: JBoss, Weblogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, OpenShift
- Zabbix Monitoring is a plus
- BMC Control-M experience is a plus
Education & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar position
