Production Manager (Flexible Packaging)
About this position
Responsibilities
• Supervision and Management: Oversee the daily operations of the production line, managing a team of operators and technicians. Ensure that production schedules are met and that all team members are working effectively and efficiently.
• Quality Control: Monitor and maintain quality standards for all products. Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs. Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all production activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff.
• Inventory Management: Coordinate with the inventory and procurement teams to ensure that materials and supplies are available as needed. Manage inventory levels to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the production process. Work with maintenance and engineering teams to address equipment malfunctions and other technical problems.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, quality control results, and any incidents. Prepare regular reports for the Production Manager and other senior management.
• Team Development: Train, mentor, and develop production staff. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the flexible packaging industry.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex production issues.
• Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
