About this position

The Learning & Development (L&D) Officer focuses on assessing, designing, and delivering learning initiatives to enhance the technical skills of engineering teams. This role ensures that training programs align with organizational goals, industry standards, and individual development needs. The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of engineering disciplines with expertise in training methods to cultivate a skilled and engaged workforce.

Responsibilities

• Assess the training needs of engineering teams through consultations with department heads, performance reviews, and skills gap analyses.
• Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to identify emerging skills requirements.
• Design and implement technical training programs, workshops, and resources tailored to engineering roles (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical, software engineering).
• Develop e-learning modules, manuals, and guides in collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Customize programs to suit varying levels of expertise, from junior engineers to senior specialists.
• Facilitate technical training sessions, seminars, and hands-on workshops.
• Partner with external training providers, vendors, and certification bodies when necessary.
• Ensure an engaging and interactive learning environment through innovative teaching techniques.
• Measure the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys, assessments, and performance metrics.
• Continuously improve training content and delivery methods based on participant feedback and organizational goals.
• Partner with engineering managers to align training initiatives with business objectives.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on program outcomes, progress, and updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiency in designing and delivering technical training programs.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Analytical mindset with a solution-oriented approach.
• Passion for continuous learning and employee development.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
