Category Management (Marketing Analyst)
About this position
The Category Management Executive is responsible for overseeing a company's product categories, from initial product development to end-of-life cycle. They are responsible for ensuring that the products within their assigned categories are effectively marketed, priced, and promoted to meet the needs of the company's target customer base. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as an ability to collaborate with other departments within the company.
Responsibilities
• Manage assigned product categories to ensure that they meet the company's overall business objectives
• Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify product opportunities and gaps
• Collaborate with product development teams to define and execute on product roadmap strategies
• Work with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute category-specific marketing plans
• Monitor product performance and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors
• Develop pricing strategies and ensure that they are consistent with market trends and competitive landscape
• Provide regular reporting and analysis on product category performance to senior management
• Participate in industry events and conferences to stay abreast of new trends and technologies
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in category management, product management, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of market research and analysis techniques
• Familiarity with pricing strategies and market trends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel for industry events and conferences
