Supplier Development Engineer - Metal parts
About this position
Responsibilities
• Responsible for supporting new and existing projects.
• This expert is an integral part of diverse teams to procure metal components that supports Bernina Thailand and Bernina International AG.
• Teamwork with the project team and supplier, you will solve technical challenges before and after SOP.
• Teamwork with suppliers, you will analyze technical correlations, optimize processes regarding quality and costs, supplier risk assessment and performance development for long term sustainability.
• Ensure all decisions are made in line with the Procurement procedures and Category Strategies.
• Any assigned task upon superior.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, manufacturing technology or a comparable field.
• 5+ years of experience in any metal casting manufacturing; high pressure, low pressure, gravity, lost wax, sand, etc.
• Expertise in the development and optimization of casting processes.
• Proficient in various associated processes such as machining, stamping, tumbling, trimming, blasting, heat treatment, and metal melting and handling…
• Skilled in the design, construction, and maintenance of casting tools.
• Familiarity with casting simulation analysis.
• Advance skills in communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Works well with diverse groups of associates and can function independent of direct supervision.
• Proficient computer skills using MS-Office, Team Center, and other applications.
• Professional in English communication.
• Certified in ISO9001, IATF16949, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, GD&T.
• Able to travel 30%-40%
