The Application & System Support (Warehouse) position involves providing support for the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring optimal system performance, and assisting users with technical issues and training.
Responsibilities
• Provide first-line support for the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to WMS.
• Assist in user training and onboarding for WMS functionalities.
• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functionality of WMS.
• Perform regular updates and maintenance tasks for the application.
• Respond promptly to user queries and issues.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to warehouse staff.
• Create and maintain user documentation and guides.
• Set up, configure, and maintain warehouse-related hardware such as barcode scanners, printers, handheld devices, and workstations.
• Ensure proper connectivity and functionality of all hardware devices.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on hardware equipment.
• Install and configure WMS software and related applications.
• Set up new hardware devices and ensure they are fully operational.
• Collaborate with IT team to integrate new systems and hardware.
• Log, track, and resolve incidents related to WMS and warehouse hardware.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT teams or vendors as necessary.
• Document incident resolutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Review and reconcile service fees associated with incident tickets from the WMS provider, verifying accuracy of charges (such as extra fees beyond standard maintenance agreements).
• Coordinate with the finance or procurement department to validate and approve ticket-based charges, ensuring alignment with budget and contractual terms.
• Identify opportunities for system and process improvements.
• Participate in projects aimed at enhancing warehouse operations and support systems.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in application support, preferably in warehouse or logistics environments.
• Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and familiarity with system configurations, troubleshooting, and user support.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, analyzing, and managing database data.
• Ability to write complex queries, optimize database performance, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
• Proficiency in WMS software and other warehouse management tools.
• Knowledge of hardware setup and maintenance, including barcode scanners, printers, and handheld devices.
