Tax Accountant
About this position
The Tax Accountant position involves preparing tax calculations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing support for tax inquiries and audits. The role requires a strong understanding of local tax laws and the ability to manage various tax-related tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
Tax & BOI Operational
• Prepare tax calculation, local tax fillings and relevant supporting documents, including value added tax (VAT), withholding tax (WHT), corporate income tax (CIT) under the existing BOI conditions and stamp duty by understanding related to tax rules to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and in accordance with relevant submission due dates.
• Reconcile all tax accounts and monitor tax expiry dates.
• Respond to internal tax inquiries (i.e. shared service center, other departments), especially providing tax advice in the area of domestic & oversea tax transactions.
• Prepare and coordinate various tax applications for reduction of withholding taxes, residency certificates.
• Organize and archive (both paper and soft file) all relevant tax data as required by local tax law.
Tax Accounting & BOI Reporting
• Prepare tax reporting, tax payment and relevant tax information for group consolidation (i.e. Tax Pre-close, Tax Forecast, Tax Cash Forecast) with accurate, reliable tax data and deliver timely.
• Perform the preparation of the BOI report for yearly submission to apply for tax exemption.
Tax Compliance and Tax Audit
• Assist Finance & Tax Manager in providing support for tax inquiries and tax audits conducted by tax authorities and external auditors timely.
• Prepare and provide documents with analytical to meet tax authorities' requirements.
• Monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation for updating to Head of Tax Thailand timely.
• Perform other related ad hoc work that may be associated with Local Tax Projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a major in accounting or tax
• At least 5 years’ experience in tax accounting or tax consulting (work experience in dealing tax audit and refunds with the Thai Revenue Department)
• Knowledge of local tax law and regulation especially in domestic & oversea tax (i.e. VAT, WHT, CIT, DTA and stamp duty)
• Proficiency in computer skill (e.g. MS offices) with familiarity of accounting program
• Verbal and written communication skill both Thai and English
• Possess analytical, accuracy and learning agility skills.
