About this position

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers, assessing purchasing needs, and optimizing inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Assess current and future purchasing needs of the hotel and develop procurement strategies accordingly.
• Monitor inventory levels and control stock levels to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
• Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their purchasing requirements and provide support as needed.
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports, and documentation for audit purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in mining or factory.
• Proficiency in English is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of purchasing software and systems is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
