Mining Engineer
About this position
The Mining Engineer position at Banpu Public Company Limited involves conducting detailed studies and providing technical support to enhance mining operations and project development.
Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed studies/pilot trials of new methodology/advanced Mine Planning and Operation practices and apply by supporting operations/projects with execution
• Seek, study, and apply advance Mine Planning and Operation tools/system, and advance technique to mine site operation
• Provide technical support i.e. due diligence, project evaluation, risk assessment, etc. to corporate and country BD as requested
• Establish mining quality assurance program to drive country mining operations and project toward operational excellence
• Develop an internal technical consulting service to support internal customer's needs in both mining operation and mining project development
• Perform pre-feasibility and feasibility study services for coal mining project
• Implementation of Mine Planning and Mine Operation best practices in mine site operation
• Work with country team to update the individual mine site life of mine plans within the country to be consistent with the results of the strategic optimization study
• Perform Strategic optimization study & life of mine plans including non-technical (e.g. permitting, land compensation, mine closure etc.) inputs and constraints
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related fields
• Having 3 years of working experience in coal mining environment or other mineral business is preferable. Fresh graduates are also welcome.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities and strategic thinking capabilities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work aboard and travel occasionally
• Proficiency in Mining Software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in English communication (Required TOIEC score minimum 500 for Supervisor level and 600 for Section Manager level)
