Bangkok Synthetics Co., Ltd. (BST) was established in 1991 as a pioneer of C4 business in Thailand from mixed C4 feedstock supply by Olefins plants, under the second stage of the national petrochemical industrial development program initiated by the Thai Government. At present, the Company is the largest producer of mixed C4 products in the Southeast Asian Region. BST debuted commercial operations in 1995 and expanded its production capacity in 1998 to correspond to the increasing demand in petrochemical industry. The Company’s products include Butadiene, Butene-1,MTBE and C4 Raffinates. These products are major raw materials of such downstream petrochemical industry as the manufacturing of synthetic rubbers and plastic resins,which are essential parts of our daily life in the form of medical devices, food containers, tires, shoes, auto parts,electric appliances, sports equipment, etc.

About this position

Responsibilities

• Develop purchasing strategies for each chemical by analyzing historical data, demand, supply, and global economic conditions from reliable sources, while also assessing the associated procurement risks.
• Procure chemicals in line with the production plan, ensuring accurate quantity, quality, and delivery dates. Negotiate, coordinate, and follow up with relevant departments throughout the purchasing process to ensure successful completion.
• Monitor and review laws and regulations related to purchased products, both domestically and internationally, to ensure legal compliance.
• Review, evaluate, and improve purchase contracts and proposals. Prepare and summarize relevant purchasing reports.
• Continuously improve procurement methods and processes to stay aligned with current market conditions.
• Identify and select new suppliers, coordinate with the production department to plan testing, and evaluate new and existing suppliers as per standard procedures.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Science, Petrochemical Science or a related field.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.70 in a Bachelor's degree and a GPA of 3.00 in a Master’s degree.
• Exhibit a TOEIC score of 550 or higher.
• 0-3 years of experience in petrochemical industry is preferable.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong Negotiation, Analytical and Strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to learn and understand new information quickly.
