Bangkok Synthetics Co., Ltd. (BST) was established in 1991 as a pioneer of C4 business in Thailand from mixed C4 feedstock supply by Olefins plants, under the second stage of the national petrochemical industrial development program initiated by the Thai Government. At present, the Company is the largest producer of mixed C4 products in the Southeast Asian Region. BST debuted commercial operations in 1995 and expanded its production capacity in 1998 to correspond to the increasing demand in petrochemical industry. The Company’s products include Butadiene, Butene-1,MTBE and C4 Raffinates. These products are major raw materials of such downstream petrochemical industry as the manufacturing of synthetic rubbers and plastic resins,which are essential parts of our daily life in the form of medical devices, food containers, tires, shoes, auto parts,electric appliances, sports equipment, etc.

About this position

This role is responsible for generating innovative ideas for the research and development of new products, designing and executing systematic experiments, and conducting in-depth analysis of results to ensure alignment with the company’s policies and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Propose innovative ideas for the research and development of new products, and strategically plan the development and experimental processes to ensure alignment with company policies.
• Design and conduct experiments systematically and safely, defining key variables to align with research objectives. Monitor and control experiments, analyze results in-depth, and summarize findings while providing detailed reports on the outcomes.
• Collaborate and coordinate effectively with various departments, including Purchasing, Technical, and others, to support testing initiatives. This may involve chemical and raw material testing, as well as analyzing products from abnormal manufacturing processes.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

• Possess a Master’s degree in Petrochemicals, Polymers science, or a related field.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00
• Exhibit a TOEIC score of 550 or higher.
• 1-5 years of experience in research and development (R&D).
• Strong background in Chemistry and Polymer Science.
• Expertise in latex and emulsion polymerization techniques.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
