Business Analyst (Business Innovation)
About this position
Responsible for gathering, analyzing and translating business strategy into technical requirements for development team. Support Feature owner with writing user stories. As Feature owners become stronger, fewer BAs will be required.
Responsibilities
• Assist several Feature owners with technical translation of Feature backlog items.
• Offers technical expertise to Feature owner in several areas.
• Writing user stories.
• Estimating business value and tech requirements of Feature backlog items.
• Facilitate scope change discussions and provide recommendations to Feature owners.
• Assist Feature owners in validating that business requirements are met.
• Document the process, requirements and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
• Work closely with the testing team to ensure that the solution meets the requirements and are of high quality.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure feature is delivered on time and within scope.
Requirements
• Demonstrated understanding or experience in technology development projects and experience working in structured project methodologies.
• Must possess strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to gather articulate and document business requirements, identify risks and manage trade-offs.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Several years' experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and tech teams.
• Engineering or technical background (through experience and education).
• Experience in a technical project environment.
• Domain knowledge including understanding of technology and systems, knowledge of industry trends and familiarity with business strategy and goals for given Feature.
