About this position

The Product Engineer’s role on an HRSG project team is to support the design of the overall process, through development of control documents such as P&IDs, Lists, and Control Philosophy and purchase of equipment and components required to operate the HRSG. The Product Engineer will interface with other disciplines within the project team and customer to deliver a quality product.

Responsibilities

• Develops and Maintains P&IDs and Process Flow diagrams.
• Develops and Maintains Line, Terminal Point, Valve, Instrument, Equipment, and I/O lists
• Sizes and Specifies for purchase all large-bore and small-bore valves include motor operated valves (Including actuator specification), ball valves and safety relief valves.
• Sizes and Specifies for purchase instruments and control valves.
• Develop and Responsible for all equipment specifications and manufacturing packages for Fabricators and Equipment.
• Sizes and Specifies for engineered equipment such as pumps, duct burners, SCR and ammonia systems, CO catalysts, deaerators, dampers, expansion joints, heat exchangers, silencers, sampling and dosing, and miscellaneous equipment.
• Performs bid evaluation, review vendor drawings, technical correspondence with vendor and subcontracting.
• Develop and Maintains Control and Operation Philosophy and Logic Diagrams
• Miscellaneous calculations – Valves, size, drain time, restriction orifices, piping insulation requirements.
• Attends project and design review meeting.
• Review code calculations.
• Review customer specifications - Familiarize after award of contract.
• Develops and maintains O&M manuals, Operator Training manuals, performs operator training.
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives and maintains departmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering
• Good English communication skills
• 3-5 years of experience in Heat Recovery Steam Generators or other related process experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical design is a plus.
