Senior Instrument Engineer
About this position
The Senior Instrument Engineer will be a key player in the Instrument design team, responsible for ensuring that all specifications and engineering works are delivered on-time, within quality, scope, and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
• Be a key player of the Instrument design team in project
• Prepare, review, and supervise all specifications required for Instrument engineering and design i.e., Instrument index, instrument list, Wiring diagram, loop diagram, calculations, specifications and datasheets and reviewing, and following up works with contractors in order to ensure that the engineering, procurement and construction works are in accordance with the project specification.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within quality, scope and within budgetary
• Participate safety assessment meeting such as HAZOP, SIL, HAZIP, etc.
• Review and verify inter-department drawings and documents such as equipment layout, equipment foundation drawing, P&IDs, datasheet, piping isometric, plot plan etc.
• Perform site visits and short-term assignments at sites as required.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with Lead Instrument engineer, project manager, design manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles
• Perform Instrument engineering and review activities carried out by Engineers, CAD Operators.
• Define, guidance and work towards continuous improvement in design, calculations, drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
• Technically evaluate and approve bidder's lists initiate Request for Quotation and Purchase Request packages
• Participate in client, vendor, design review meetings
• Support Lead Instrument engineer in evaluating manpower and deliverable list in the proposal preparation stage
• Prepare scope of work, manhour and cost estimates for proposals.
• Coaching and mentoring young engineers for technical knowledge and motivation.
• Proactively resolve any discrepancies between ARTELIA and its Customer's requirements.
• Assist, as required, in the development of department standards and procedures
• Effective time management skills and ability to priorities
• Supervise the work on the team as assigned with the project organization
• Contribution to the professional development program / standard of the instrument team.
• Perform inter-department checker of Design engineering deliverables
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Instrument Engineering or equivalent. Master’s Degree is preferred.
• 7-10 years’ experience in Instrument engineering in Instrument design firm such as Oil & Gas, Chemical industrial, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Utility.
• 3-5 years’ experience in proven Senior Instrument engineer
• Effective time management skills and ability to priorities
• Experience 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks
• Experience in Hygienic design for Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical would be an advantage.
• Deep understanding and working knowledge of relevant international codes, standards, and best practices
• Excellent English verbal, written, computer, and technical communication and presentation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
